THE EVERGREEN
At first, fresh evergreen it was
It spells harmony, peace and food sufficiency,
To the University graduates
The key to the offices and cars
Available they are, isn't funny?
Soon as it ages, the green dries and it lames.
What makes the woe? War, nature, or self bite?
Asked the cause, by the perplexed subjects.
Always blame thee, the ministers,
But the ebb and flow of the reign
Invisible it makes thee and
always makes thee slip off catch.
Seems every reign, abscesses are all over the parts and
then corrupt the whole body.
Can the body be lost to loss?
"No", answered, the pen.
The ministers all are; he, she, we, they.
Doctored mind of the 'FOUR' the 'US' and
nursing voice: repairs not in my hand lies the panacea.
Does the symbol, green lie? No!
Every evergreen is born from dried seeds.
The faith and hope of the pen;
As the evergreen seems still born, drying time it is,
Untill the missing word 'OURS' is found.
Then soon together as one, Nigeria will be green again.
THIS IS NIGERIAN STORY. THIS IS THE TRANSITION. IT IS DIFFICULT TO PRAY FOR PREVIOUS LIFE. INDEED, IT IS ALWAYS BELIEVED THE FUTURE IS BRIGHTER BUT NOT IN THIS CASE.
