Still Here, and That’s a Victory
A poem about healing, growth, and finding strength when life gets heavy
I’ve walked through storms nobody could see,
Carrying battles quietly inside of me.
And told everyone, “I’m fine,” while wondering why.
There were nights when hope felt far away,
When yesterday seemed better than today.
But somehow, I still woke up and chose to fight.
I’ve lost some people along the way,
And lost pieces of myself on certain days.
Some doors closed when I needed them wide
But look at me now
I’m still standing here.
Not because life became easier,
But because I became stronger through the years.
I learned that healing doesn't happen overnight,
And growing doesn't always feel right.
I’m not the person I used to be,
And honestly, I’m beginning to like what I see.
So if you're reading this while feeling alone.
You don't have to have everything figured out today.
Your story isn't finished.
Your dreams aren't gone.
Even if you're moving slowly,
You're still moving.
And one day, you'll look back and understand
You'll realize the person you were trying to become
So breathe.
Keep going.
You're still here.
And sometimes, that's the victory.
