WHILE YOU WAIT

Letters to My Friend 🀍

Day 6: While You Wait

Dear Friend,

Waiting can be one of the hardest things to do.

Not because we don't believe God can answer, but because sometimes our hearts grow tired of hoping for something we cannot yet see.

Maybe you're waiting for a door to open.

A prayer to be answered.

A dream to finally become reality.

A relationship to be restored.

A season to change.

Or perhaps you're simply waiting for life to feel a little lighter than it does right now.

And if you're honest, you're probably wondering,

"How long, God?"

How long do I have to keep believing?

How long do I have to pray the same prayer?

How long before something changes?

I wish I could tell you exactly when the waiting will end.

I can't.

But I can remind you of something I hope you don't forget:

Waiting is not wasted when God is in it.

We often think of waiting as the space between where we are and where we want to be.

A pause.

An interruption.

A frustrating chapter we wish God would hurry through.

But sometimes, the waiting isn't just something we're passing through.

Sometimes, God is doing something in us while we're waiting for Him to do something for us.

There are things He can teach you in the waiting that you may never learn in the receiving.

Patience.

Trust.

Contentment.

Surrender.

Faith that isn't dependent on circumstances.

The ability to say, "Even if I don't understand what You are doing, I still trust You."

And maybe that's the real work of this season.

Not simply waiting for the answer.

But becoming someone who can carry the answer when it comes.

Think about a seed.

When you place it beneath the soil, nothing seems to be happening.

You can't see the roots.

You can't see the growth.

You can't see the flower that will eventually appear.

From the surface, it looks like silence.

But beneath the surface, something is happening.

And sometimes your life feels exactly like that.

Quiet.

Hidden.

Unchanging.

You pray, and nothing seems to move.

You try, and nothing seems to happen.

You believe, but the promise still feels far away.

Yet perhaps God is doing His deepest work in places you cannot see.

The Bible says:

Β«"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles..."

β€” Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)Β»

I love that Scripture doesn't say those who wait will never become tired.

It says they shall renew their strength.

Because God knows that waiting can make you weary.

He knows there are days when faith feels strong and days when all you can manage is a quiet, "Lord, please help me."

And that prayer is enough.

You don't have to pretend you're not tired.

You don't have to manufacture a smile and act like waiting doesn't hurt.

You can tell God you're disappointed.

You can tell Him you're confused.

You can tell Him you're scared that the thing you've been praying for may never happen.

He already knows.

And somehow, in His kindness, He meets us even there.

So, dear friend, don't measure God's faithfulness by the speed of His answers.

A delayed answer is not necessarily a denied prayer.

A closed door is not necessarily the end of your story.

And silence does not mean absence.

Sometimes God is working in ways you won't understand until much later.

Joseph had a pit before the palace.

David had a wilderness before the throne.

Abraham had years of waiting before the promise was fulfilled.

The waiting did not mean God had forgotten them.

The waiting was part of their story.

Maybe it is part of yours too.

So while you wait, live.

While you wait, grow.

While you wait, pray.

While you wait, love people.

While you wait, learn.

While you wait, become.

Don't put your entire life on pause because you're waiting for one thing to happen.

There is still beauty here.

There are still lessons here.

There are still people to love, memories to make, prayers to pray, and reasons to be grateful.

And when fear whispers, "What if it never happens?"

Maybe you don't need to have an answer today.

Maybe you can simply say,

"Even if I don't know what tomorrow holds, I know who holds tomorrow."

That's faith.

Not knowing the ending, but trusting the Author.

So, friend, breathe.

You don't have to rush God's process.

You don't have to force doors open.

You don't have to chase what God has asked you to wait for.

And you certainly don't have to compare your timeline with someone else's.

Their chapter is not your chapter.

Their timing is not your timing.

God is not late.

He is not careless with your life.

And He has not forgotten your name.

Keep trusting.

Keep becoming.

Keep praying.

Keep going.

One day, you'll look back at this season and realize that while you were asking God, "When will this end?"

He was quietly teaching you how to become the person you needed to be for what came next.

And perhaps, one day, you'll understand why He made you wait.

Until then, friendβ€”

wait with hope.

Not because you know exactly what tomorrow will bring,

but because you know the One who does.

With hope always,

Your Friend. 🀍

Reflection 🌿

What are you waiting for today?

And instead of allowing fear, comparison, or impatience to consume you, what would it look like to surrender that waiting season to God?

Prayer 🀍

Father,

Teach me to wait with faith instead of fear.

When I grow tired, renew my strength.

When I become impatient, remind me that You see what I cannot see.

When I am tempted to compare my journey with someone else's, help me remember that You are writing my story uniquely.

Give me grace not only to wait for what You have promised, but to grow in the process.

Help me trust You when You are silent.

Help me trust You when the answer looks delayed.

Help me trust You when I don't understand.

And when I cannot see what You are doing, remind me that hidden does not mean forgotten.

I surrender my timeline, my expectations, and my fears to You.

Teach me to believe that Your timing is filled with purpose.

In Jesus' name,

Amen. 🀍
