You are standing down, enjoying the cool breeze, and this little annoying creature starts landing on your face. They start making that buzzing sound that you hate. They irritate you, they distract you from what you are doing, and you try to kill them, but they move fast and unpredictably. I mean, why wouldn't you? They are often associated with dirt and diseases. These little creatures do not understand what you call private space. They are all over the place, making silly sounds.
You still don't know them, do you? Flies. Very annoying, right? Sometimes you wonder why they were created. Do they even have a role? Well, to that, I do not know. But here is my thought about them: they are having fun. In fact, from their own perspective, you're just another object in their environment that might provide food, warmth, or moisture. Sometimes your body produces heat and you sweat. This contains salts and moisture that some flies are attracted to, but you do not know that. The carbon dioxide you breathe out helps them locate you, and these flies are simply resting or exploring.
Are they wrong for disturbing you? If you could communicate with them, I am sure you would have been their greatest obstacle to exploring their own environment. And you, of course, hate that little thing that makes such an irritating sound and disturbs you. Maybe they are wrong and you are right, or you are wrong and they are right.
Sometimes I am watching wildlife, and a video of a predator is shown, hungry and searching for prey. If it hunts and fails multiple times, one part of me is secretly praying it catches a prey, and when it finally sees one, I feel happy for it. In another scenario, a prey is the centre of attention for the wildlife explorer, and he explains how the prey successfully escaped danger, and I feel relieved. Enough of my own perspective. Let's consider the animals themselves. It is purely survival. They both need food, and they both need to survive.
Some came up with the philosophy that education is the best legacy and that it is the key. Some came out to counter that education is a scam at the end of the day. Some argue that discipline and consistency are the keys to success. Some argue that grace, luck, and connections are better. To some, a 9-to-5 job is better than building a business or becoming an entrepreneur. To others, entrepreneurship or nothing. Democracy is the best to some; dictatorship is the best to others. Some believe marriage is a scam, while others think marriage is the best thing. Some agree that men are scum; others cherish men.
Look, nobody is wrong. Maybe if I could just look at it from your point of view, or if I were in your position, maybe I would have picked the same philosophy. What if all you have practised all your life, all you believe in, is a vengeful lie?
