Let's talk about what you actually do with what you find.
Because spotting a wallet that made 100x isn't alpha.
Understanding WHY it made that trade is. Here's the framework I use:
1. FIND THE WALLET
Start with a wallet that has already shown you something.
But don't get impressed by one trade.
I want to see a history of good decisions.
Multiple early entries.
Good position sizing.
Good exits.
Different narratives.
One 100x can be luck.
A pattern of good trades is much harder to fake.
2. REVERSE-ENGINEER ONE TRADE
Pick its best trade.
Then go backwards.
What did the wallet do 24h before?
What contracts did it interact with?
What other tokens did it buy?
Which wallets did it interact with?
What was happening in the ecosystem?
You're trying to reconstruct the decision.
Not copy the transaction.
3. FIND THE OTHER BUYERS
Now this is where I start paying serious attention.
Take that same token.
Find the other wallets that bought early.
Then rank them.
Which ones have a history?
Which ones are consistently early?
Which ones are just random?
If 1 wallet bought early, okay.
If 5-10 wallets with strong histories accumulated before the move, now I have a signal.
4. LOOK FOR THE CATALYST
Smart wallets buying isn't enough.
Ask: WHY NOW?
Something usually changes before capital starts moving.
New protocol?
New product?
New incentive?
New listing?
New narrative?
New liquidity?
New users?
Onchain activity tells you WHAT is happening.
The catalyst helps explain WHY it's happening.
That's a much stronger setup.
5. CHECK THE MARKET BEFORE YOU TOUCH IT
Now look at the numbers.
Market cap.
Liquidity.
Volume.
Holders.
Wallet concentration.
Buy/sell activity.
You want to know:
“Is this still early?”
A wallet buying at $800K mcap is very different from that same wallet buying at $80M.
Same wallet.
Completely different opportunity.
Timing matters.
6. BUILD THE TRADE THESIS
At this point, I should be able to explain the trade in one paragraph.
Something like:
“Several wallets with a history of early entries are accumulating this sector. Capital is moving into the ecosystem. Liquidity is increasing. The project has a catalyst coming. The market hasn't fully repriced it yet.”
Now we have a thesis.
Not: “Bro, smart money bought.”
That's not a thesis.
That's FOMO with extra steps.
7. DEFINE WHAT PROVES YOU WRONG
This is where most CT traders disappear.
Before entering, decide what would invalidate the idea.
Wallets start dumping?
Liquidity disappears?
Catalyst fails?
Volume dies?
Expected users don't arrive?
The original thesis changes?
Get out.
Onchain gives you information.
It doesn't give you certainty.
8. THEN WATCH THE TRADE
If you enter, don't switch your brain off.
Keep watching the same wallets.
Are they still accumulating?
Taking profits?
Rotating?
Are new credible wallets arriving?
Is liquidity following?
Is the thesis developing?
You're not just watching price.
You're watching whether the original reason for the trade is still alive.
THIS is the part I want people to understand.
The goal of onchain analysis isn't:
“Find wallet → copy wallet → pray.”
It's:
FIND WALLET
→ STUDY BEHAVIOR
→ FIND PATTERN
→ FIND OTHER WALLETS
→ FIND CATALYST
→ CHECK LIQUIDITY
→ BUILD THESIS
→ DEFINE INVALIDATION
→ EXECUTE
→ MONITOR
That's a real process.
And once you do this enough, something changes.
You stop needing someone to tell you:
“THIS IS THE NEXT 100X.”
You can start finding things worth investigating yourself.
That's the skill.
Not predicting the future.
Getting better at finding where something interesting might be happening BEFORE it's obvious.
