"Wisdom is profitable to direct." — Ecclesiastes 10:10
There is a kind of strength that doesn't shout to prove its worth,
it doesn't rush to answer, doesn't speak before it's known,
it moves like quiet rivers shaping mountains since their birth,
it builds a steady path where foolishness has only flown.
I have swung the axe of effort without sharpening the blade,
I have labored twice as hard for half of what I could have gained,
until I learned that strength alone cannot replace what's weighed
by wisdom's patient hand, by understanding carefully trained.
"The wise in heart are called discerning." — Proverbs 16:21
Wisdom doesn't promise that the road will lose its stones,
it doesn't clear the valleys or erase the steepest climb,
but it teaches you to navigate the unfamiliar zones,
to walk with purpose, even through the darkest of your time.
"Get wisdom, get understanding... she will exalt you." — Proverbs 4:5-8
I have learned that passion needs direction to succeed,
that energy without wisdom often burns the hand that gives,
that even the best intentions, like an unattended seed,
can wither without knowledge of the soil in which it lives.
So I am learning to be slower with my steps, but sure,
to ask before I answer, to listen more than I proclaim,
to let discernment guide the plans I once rushed to secure,
to build with careful wisdom, not with haste, not just with aim.
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God." — James 1:5
And when I do not know the way, when the path feels far too wide,
I remember I can simply ask, and wisdom will be given,
not because I've earned it, not because of merit or of pride,
but because it is a gift extended freely, straight from heaven.
So wisdom is profitable, not just for the mind, but for the soul,
it directs the heart through storms that strength alone can't weather,
it takes the scattered pieces of a life and makes them whole,
guiding every step toward a future built to last forever.
