I trod the paths of deep and dark valleys,
Bearing wounds that I couldn't bear.
The road was rough, the nights were long and the journey was arduous.
But somehow I carried on at a high level.
I encountered the clouds that rolled my heart,
Sustained the fights unknown.
For each drop that fell,
A more powerful energy was discovered.
But my struggles would try to make me fall
But I found my strength in it through it all.
The pain was a lesson learnt,
The ashes were where courage was lit.
There were times when I thought, I'm going to give up,
When there was little hope and a wavering faith.
But, a voice whispered, “Rise again,”
And it was with strength that he gave me to endure the pain.
That's what I learned from mountains,
And trials transform us over time.
The scars I have are not blood on my hands;
They remind me of what I did to overcome.
I'm not sure what tomorrow brings,
I am not afraid to live in fear.
For each effort that I made I became more personal,
He gave me strength that I had never known.
And let the winds blow free and fierce,
I will remain childlike in my faith.
My pain did not crack my spirit
It made me strong again, it made me whole.
When my name be called on the morrow,
I'll get up once more, reborn of pain.
But strength was lying in the shadows everywhere,
In the fight I became strong.
