Craving things I wish I had.
People get to be people's first
choice without having to
earn it.
But mine was never like that.
I became fine with almost seen.
I became fine with being the
third wheel.
I became fine with being the
person people remembered
only when their first choice
wasn't available.
Sometimes my subconscious even
mocked me.
But I'm always having the same
say in my head:
Half bread is better than none.
So I took the half.
I convinced myself it was enough.
I called crumbs a meal because
at least they were something.
But honestly,
I want the whole bread without
being exposed to the air.
I want to be chosen without
having to compete for the spot.
I want someone to look at me
and not wonder who else they
could choose.
I'm craving something
worth being selfish for.
I'm craving for what I never had
to earn.
Something that doesn't come
with conditions, comparisons,
or the fear of being replaced.
Something money cannot even buy.
I'm craving the kind of love
that doesn't make me question
whether I'm enough.
Maybe that's why I keep craving
things I wish I had.
Because sometimes,
you don't want more.
You just want to experience
what everyone else seems to
have so effortlessly.
