YOUR BIGGEST SETBACK CAN BECOME YOUR GREATEST COMEBACK

Things don't always happen the way we want them to. We do our best, pray, hope and expect and something doesn't work out. We could get a failing grade in a test, miss out on a chance, get rejected, make a bad choice, or have a bad season. They can be difficult times, but a setback is not a catastrophe. Indeed, your worst failure can be your best comeback.

It doesn't necessarily mean it's time to give up. At times, it is a chance to learn, to grow and be stronger. When things go wrong, you can discover your errors; when they go right, you may miss them. It can help you develop patience, self-control, humility and perseverance. Failure is not about who isn't making it, it's about who is.Failure is not about who is not making it, it's about who is making it.

There are those who are successful in their life who have had times when all the odds were against them. Their resolve to persevere was what set them apart from those who had quit. They knew that it was not a failure to fall, but only a failure to rise. You may have a challenging situation in front of you, but it doesn't have to be what your future looks like.

Don't waste time saying, “Why me??” when something doesn't go your way. Rather, ask, “What do I learn from this?” The question can alter the way you look at things. Each challenge may have a learning opportunity, and each difficult season may create qualities that would be useful in the future.

The starting point to a comeback is refusing to let disappointment get the last word. Stand up, review, correct errors and retest/retry. You might have to adjust your approach, get some advice, practice a little more or just rest for a while. What matters is to keep going ahead.

Avoid making comparisons with others' journeys. Everyone achieves success in his or her own unique timeline and in his or her own unique way. If someone else succeeds, then it doesn't mean you are a failure. Not all of your story happened in the past, and this is not your entire journey.

You might get discouraged and tired at times. Those days, remind yourself of your purpose. Call to mind your goals, your purpose and the steps you have taken. Little actions have a great impact. Sometimes progress isn't so obvious as a dramatic change, sometimes it is simply when you refuse to give up.

When things are challenging, they can also be chances to learn to trust God more. Where strength seems lacking, prayer, faith and good advice can provide the strength needed to keep going. Closed doors can lead to other opportunities you didn't anticipate.

Don't let a failure stop you from believing that you aren't a failure. You can learn, grow, and begin anew. Although it may have altered your course, it doesn't need to end your mission.

Some day, you will reflect on the season that had you crying and think how much stronger you are because of it. The seemingly insurmountable hurdle can turn out to be the start of something even bigger.

Therefore, if life knocks you down, get up again. Take lessons from the experience. Continue to believe, continue to work, continue to pray, and continue to go forward. Your setback is not the end of the story, it's just another chapter.

The worst thing that could happen, is the best thing that can happen.
