The diaspora is no longer a strange concept; everything is now patterned around being smart, overshadowing the very part we all need to remain faithful in: truth and spirit.
Responsibilities today are often undertaken for the sake of gaining visibility on the stage. Being known by God rather than being known by men is no longer a priority. Instead, the reverse is the case, as we all chase after validation without humility.
Unity no longer looms on the horizon. Righteousness and holiness no longer reign. “Love does not chastise” has become the only language some sons understand when dealing with their spiritual fathers. 😔
The strategic voice of the enemy has echoed so loudly in the hearts of men that it now sounds like the remedy. The Spirit is one, yet division has rendered void the visions and purposes of God that ought to be fulfilled in unity.
Christianity is no longer a lifestyle; religiosity has become the anthem of the young ones of this age. They do as they please, without reverence for the presence of God. Honour has lost its place, and the fear of God seems to mean nothing compared to the things they fear, because they believe their lives are secured by the grace of God.
They keep scrolling through social media, even in the very place of worship. They remain distracted, consumed by their own inclinations, and conceited in their self-absorption.
The abnormal is becoming normal, and the unacceptable is gradually becoming acceptable. The only table many desire to sit at is the one that offers comfort and pleasure, even at the expense of compromise.
Nothing seems to entice them like the pursuit of ease, rather than the willingness to pay the price until they apprehend the light of God and walk in its fullness.
A generation without God is beginning to resonate. A generation in which doing the bidding of God has become so difficult, so demanding, and almost suffocating.
An average young girl is made to believe that having a big butt and big breasts is what matters most, exposing her body on the streets as though it were a billboard designed to service the eyes of men.
Decency is now mismanaged in the name of fashion. Looking sexy is interpreted as being wise, trendy, and fashionable, while modesty is gradually being treated as though it has lost its relevance.
“No weapon formed or fashioned against me shall prosper” no longer seems to carry the same conviction in the heart of an average Christian brother. In the community we find ourselves in today, even the sight of an average young lady dressed immodestly can cause the spirit of a man to falter.
How long are we going to continue living the life of the world rather than the life of the Word?
How long are we going to continue rising and falling until our struggles with masturbation, fornication, and adultery become so deeply rooted that their voices grow louder than the convictions of our souls?
The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. The truth is, if revival must come, then we must be willing to let go of the old man—I mean, the old nature—and deliberately chase after God.
We cannot continue to desire revival while entertaining the very things that quench the fire. We cannot keep asking for transformation while making room for the nature we ought to crucify.
If this generation must return to God, then the return must begin with us.
