Faith is believing
in what my eyes cannot see,
holding on to a promise
I cannot yet touch,
and trusting a God
whose plans I do not always understand.
Sometimes I pray
and nothing seems to change.
I ask,
I wait,
I hope,
and still,
the answer does not come
in the way I imagined.
And honestly,
there are moments
when I wonder,
God, are You still there?
But then I remember
what Your Word has said.
That all things
work together for good
for those who love You.
So I hold on.
Not because I understand everything,
but because I remember
who You are.
You have never failed me before.
So why would I believe
that You will start now?
There are things
I cannot see yet.
Doors that have not opened.
Prayers that still feel unanswered.
Promises that seem to be taking
longer than I expected.
But perhaps faith
was never about seeing
the whole road.
Perhaps it is simply
trusting the One
who already knows where it leads.
And yes,
sometimes I am afraid.
Sometimes my heart trembles
even while my lips say,
"I trust You."
But maybe faith
is not pretending
that fear does not exist.
Maybe faith is saying,
"I am afraid,
but I will still trust You."
"I don't understand,
but I will still believe."
"I cannot see what You are doing,
but I know You are good."
Because You are God.
And You have never needed
my understanding
to remain faithful.
So when tomorrow feels uncertain,
I will remember yesterday.
When the waiting feels too long,
I will remember Your faithfulness.
When I cannot see a way,
I will remember
that You do not need me
to see the way
for You to make one.
My faith may sometimes
feel small,
but I will keep holding on.
Because my hope
is not anchored
in what I can see.
It is anchored
in Your Word.
It is anchored
in who You are.
And even when I cannot understand
what You are doing,
I will trust You.
Not because everything
makes sense,
but because You are God.
And if You have never failed before,
I have no reason
to believe
You will fail me now.
