The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." — Exodus 14:14
There's a battle you never saw, fought before you woke,
a mountain moved in silence, before you shed a tear,
a door You closed so gently, I mistook it for a joke,
not knowing You were clearing paths I couldn't see from here.
I used to think You were distant when my prayers felt unheard,
I used to measure faith by how fast You seemed to move,
but You were working in the shadows, arranging every word,
setting up the answer long before I had the proof.
Like Esther in the palace, where Your name was never said,
yet Your hand moved through every scene, through every twist of fate,
You were writing my deliverance while I worried, while I bled,
turning what was meant to break me into something great.
"I will go before you and level the mountains." — Isaiah 45:2
So the doors that shut on me were doors You shut with care,
the people who walked away were making room for those who'd stay,
the storms I thought would drown me were proof that You were there,
clearing out the wreckage I could not clear away.
"One of you routs a thousand, because the Lord your God fights for you." — Joshua 23:10
I don't need to see the battle to know that it is won,
I don't need to understand the timing of Your grace,
for You were moving mountains long before the fight begun,
You were setting up my victory in the quiet, hidden place.
So I will rest in knowing You are working, even now,
behind the scenes, behind the silence, behind my doubt and fear,
You are still the God who fights for me, who somehow
turns my waiting rooms to altars, turns my far to near.
