Getting Into The Right Business

Your ability to succeed in any given business depends in part on having the necessary talents in a well developed state. No one can succeed as a music teacher without a strong musical aptitude; no one can achieve great success in any of the mechanical trades without well developed mechanical faculties; and no one can succeed in mercantile activities without tact and commercial aptitudes. However, being proficient in the abilities needed for your specific profession does not guarantee that you will become wealthy. Even though they have incredible talent, some musicians remain impoverished; some blacksmiths, carpenters, and others have excellent mechanical skills but don't become wealthy; and some traders with good interpersonal skills still fall short. It is crucial to have excellent tools, but it is also important that they be utilized correctly. The many faculties are instruments. With a keen saw, a square, a fine plane, and other tools, one man may create a lovely piece of furniture; another man can duplicate the object with the same tools, but his creation will be a disaster. He is unable to effectively employ quality instruments. You will find it simpler to succeed if you choose a career for which you have the right mental equipment, as your mind's many faculties are the instruments with which you must carry out the labor that will make you wealthy. Generally speaking, you will excel most in the industry where your most powerful abilities are employed, or the one for which you are "best suited" by nature. However, there are restrictions to this statement as well. No one should see the predispositions they were born with as immutably establishing their career. Since you can develop the appropriate skill if you lack it, you can become wealthy in ANY industry; it just means that you will need to create your tools as you go along rather than limiting yourself to those with which you were born. You will find it SIMPLER to succeed in a profession for which you currently possess highly developed skills; nevertheless, you MAY succeed in any profession since you can develop any rudimentary ability, and there is no lack of such talents. no skill for which you don't at least have the basics. You will become wealthy with the least amount of effort if you do what you are best at. but doing what you want to do will make you extremely wealthy. Life is doing what you want to do; and there is no real fulfillment in living if we are forced to continually accomplish something we don't enjoy and can never achieve what we desire. we want to perform. It's certain that you can achieve your goals; the desire itself is proof that you possess the power to do so. Desire is a display of strength. The power that may express and develop music is the desire to play it; the mechanical talent that may express and develop mechanical devices is the desire to build them. There is never any wish to do something when there is no power to do it, whether developed or undeveloped; and when there is a strong desire to do something, it is absolute evidence that the power to do it is strong, and only needs to be cultivated and used in the proper way.
