We Make Plans, But Destiny Has Its Own Agenda

There are a lot of plans in life. When we start to comprehend our surroundings, we start to think about what we believe the future will be like. We make decisions about our careers, form friendships, launch careers, attend school, and envision our lives. We think that if we work hard enough and are determined enough we can manage our lives. However, when times are tough, life will tell us that we are not in control of all things.

Plans can be made but life can change them out of nowhere. One might work for years on a certain career, but then suddenly find himself going down a different road. One person might have a set of plans to wed a specific person, but factors could get in the way. Today a company may seem like a viable option but fail the next day. The journey may take five years when it was expected to take one year. These experiences are a reminder that life is not always following our own schedule.

But don't think that we can't control our destiny fully, it doesn't mean our choices are not important. All our choices still have repercussions. We can make a choice to work hard, be disciplined, learn from our errors, be kind to others, and press on when things get hard.

Consider a farmer.Consider a farmer as an example. The farmer can plow the field, plant good seeds, weed, and work hard. However the farmer is not able to call the rains or control all of the factors that influence the yield. Equally, we may get ready or do our utmost, but there are things that we cannot control.

A moment of failure can turn out to be a pivotal moment in our lives. If we don't take a deal, we might find another one. A closed door can help us take a step toward the better. A challenging season can be a time of discovering patience, strength, wisdom, and resilience.

The worst thing we can do is to think that a single random event has ruined our life. Life doesn't always go the way we want it to go. Sometimes, it's a matter of learning to make things work out when they are not going to plan.

Uncertainty can also be faced with trust in God for those of faith. It doesn't always make sense why things are like that, but it is still okay to believe our lives have meaning and purpose when things are unclear.

So, planning is important, and flexibility is important. We should dream but we need to understand that the journey may be different from what we had envisioned. We need to strive for good, but sometimes we need to understand that there are things we can't change.

We may not be able to dictate our fate, but we have a responsibility to respond to the situations that life places before us.

We plan, but destiny has its plans. Sometimes the unexpected path is the path that will teach us the most.
