I wake up with dreams in my head,
But sometimes they feel too far ahead.
I carry my hopes beneath tired eyes,
While quietly questioning all my “whys.”
Everyone seems to know where they're going,
While I’m still learning, still growing.
Some days I feel like I’m falling behind,
Trying to make sense of this restless mind.
There are bills I cannot ignore,
And responsibilities waiting at the door.
There are classes, deadlines, and sleepless nights,
And battles I fight without making a sound.
I smile when I’m supposed to smile,
I say “I’m fine” once in a while.
But nobody sees the thoughts I hide,
Or how many times I’ve cried inside.
I have dreams bigger than my fears,
But sometimes fear is all I hear.
I want to become someone I’m proud to know,
But I’m learning that becoming takes time to grow.
Maybe I don't need all the answers today.
Maybe it’s okay to lose my way.
Maybe growth isn't always beautiful,
Maybe it’s messy, painful, and unpredictable.
Maybe becoming means starting again,
After disappointment, after pain.
It means picking yourself up from the floor,
Even when you’re not sure what you’re fighting for.
I’m learning not to compare my chapter
To someone else’s finished story.
I’m learning that slow progress
Is still progress.
I may not have the life I imagine,
But I’m building it piece by piece.
Through every mistake, every failure,
Every moment I thought I couldn’t continue.
There is still a dream inside me.
Still a little hope beneath the fear.
Still a version of me waiting
To step into the light.
So I’ll keep walking,
Even when the road feels uncertain.
I’ll keep dreaming,
Even when the dream feels distant.
Because I am not finished.
I am not behind.
I am not lost.
I am still becoming. 🌱
