Night has come upon the sleeping land,
And darkness gently covers every street,
The moon now rises, calm and grand,
While tired footsteps disappear beneath my feet.
The busy world has finally grown still,
The noisy voices fade into the air,
The wind moves softly across the hill,
As though it carries whispers everywhere.
Night has come, and shadows stretch and grow,
Across the windows, rooftops, trees, and stone,
The stars awaken with a gentle glow,
And remind the lonely heart it is not alone.
A little child is dreaming in her bed,
While somewhere, someone stares into the sky,
Thinking of all the words they never said,
And wondering where forgotten moments lie.
The moon watches over sleeping faces,
While silver light falls softly on the ground,
And every soul retreats to hidden places
Where peace and quiet can be found.
Night has come for those who fought all day,
For weary hearts that carried heavy pain,
For those who smiled while hiding dismay,
And those who cried alone beneath the rain.
It comes without asking who we are,
It covers both the rich and poor alike,
It wraps the earth beneath its cloak of stars
And turns the darkness into something bright.
Perhaps the night is not a thing to fear,
Perhaps it comes to teach us how to rest,
To leave behind the worries we held dear
And let tomorrow handle all the rest.
For even darkness has a purpose too;
It gives the stars a chance to brightly shine.
It gives the tired heart a different view
And makes the morning feel like something divine.
Night has come, but night will not remain.
The darkest hour will slowly disappear,
And sunlight will return across the plain,
As dawn approaches, quiet, warm, and clear.
So let the night take all the weight away,
Let sleeping dreams replace the fears of old.
Tomorrow waits beyond the edge of day,
With stories yet unwritten to unfold.
Sleep, weary heart, and do not be afraid.
The darkness cannot steal the coming light.
Every shadow that tonight has made
Will disappear before the morning bright.
Night has come, so close your eyes and rest,
Let silence heal the wounds you cannot name.
Let dreams remind you that you did your best,
And tomorrow gives you another chance again.
And when the first light touches every tree,
When golden rays awaken earth and sky,
You will rise with a heart that has been free,
And greet another morning passing by.
For night is not the ending of the day;
It is a bridge that leads us toward the dawn.
It teaches us that darkness fades away,
And every night must eventually move on.
So let the stars keep shining overhead,
Let peaceful dreams surround the sleeping night.
For though the sun has gone and day has fled,
Somewhere beyond the dark, there waits the light.
