Only God Knows Those Who Are Serving Him Fervently

Judging individuals based on their looks, church positions, public prayers, or engagement in religious activities is simple in Christianity. Nevertheless, genuine devotion to God transcends human perception. Only God knows who is genuinely serving Him from the bottom of their heart. God understands the actual intentions behind every conduct and looks at the heart, whereas humans judge by outward looks.

An significant lesson about real repentance, submission, and service to God may be found in Matthew 21:31–32. Jesus told the main priests and elders in this verse that prostitutes and tax collectors were going to enter the kingdom of God before them. These religious authorities saw themselves as righteous, but the tax collectors and prostitutes were seen as sinners, making this statement unexpected.

Jesus said that John the Baptist arrived to teach them the way of righteousness, but they rejected him. Nonetheless, the tax collectors and prostitutes repented and trusted his message. The religious authorities would not believe or alter their beliefs, even after witnessing their response.

God is more concerned with a sincere heart than with an outward show of religiosity, according to this text.

Looks Beyond God's Looks

In public, some individuals may seem to be very religious. They may preach strong sermons, sing in the choir, pray loudly, give offerings, or occupy significant roles in the church. These acts may be precious manifestations of religion, but they do not automatically demonstrate that a person is devotedly serving God.

Sincere service demands a heart that loves God, obeys His Word, and expresses love for others. Someone may be well-liked by others yet still need to reflect on their connection with God. In the same way, someone who isn't well-liked in the church may genuinely and meekly connect with Him.

Matthew 21:31–32 reminds us that those whom society despises may be more sincere in their remorse and have a greater connection to God than those who parade their morality.

Obedience and Repentance are Essential for True Service.

John's message was heard by prostitutes and tax collectors, who reacted by changing their behavior. When they genuinely repent, their activities show that no one is outside the purview of God's forgiveness.

Claiming to be flawless is not what it means to serve God with zeal. It entails acknowledging our faults, asking for pardon, and sincere attempts to adhere to God's purpose.

Even if it is challenging, a real servant of God must be prepared to accept correction, forsake sinful behavior, forgive others, and be kind. God isn't searching for people who just declare their religion with their mouths; He wants people whose lifestyles demonstrate their religion.

Don't Judge the Spirituality of Others

As Christians, we need to be careful not to make assumptions about who is serving God faithfully and who isn't. While we can observe people's actions, we cannot completely comprehend their hearts or their private connection with God.

Without actively pursuing acknowledgment, certain individuals serve in a low-key manner. They support God's labor, assist the needy, pray in private, and stay faithful even when no one acknowledges their endeavors.

Our Father, who witnesses what is performed in secret, will pay us back, according to Matthew 6:4. For this reason, our service shouldn't be motivated by public recognition.

Instead of criticizing or competing with others, we should consider our own life and ask if our actions really delight God.

In summary

God alone knows those who are fervently serving Him since He looks past appearances, titles, church activities, and human acclaim. We are reminded in Matthew 21:31–32 that genuine repentance and obedience are more important than religious pride.

With sincerity, humility, love, and loyalty, let's worship God. Instead of attempting to convince others that we are spiritual, let us concentrate on gratifying God in all that we do.

The most compelling proof of our sincere devotion to God is not the volume with which we declare our faith, but rather the sincerity with which we abide by His Word.
