I HAD IT ALL
stories/poem

I HAD IT ALL

‎I felt safe with you,

‎and you made me doubt it.

‎You knew how to make me laugh,

‎then gave me reasons to cry.

‎I respected you so much,

‎you threw that respect away like it meant nothing.

‎I loved how driven you were,

‎but you drove us apart with every selfish choice.

‎I trusted your judgment,

‎until you judged me wrong and called it truth.

‎I appreciated everything,

‎you only noticed once I was gone and the silence got loud.

‎You were my favorite person,

‎now you're just a memory I scroll past.

‎You made me feel at peace,

‎then left me with storms I had to weather alone.

‎I loved your mind,

‎but your heart was nowhere to be found when I needed it most.

‎You made everything better,

‎until you made everything worse without warning.

‎You were different,

‎until you chose to be like the rest and broke all your promises.

‎I admired how you handled things,

‎until you mishandled me and called it growth.

‎You were a good man,

‎you just forgot how to be good to me.

‎You were the best decision I ever made,

‎and the biggest mistake you ever lost.

‎I loved the way you think,

‎but hated the way you treated me when no one was watching.

‎I believed in you,

‎when you couldn't even believe in us.

‎You inspired me to dream bigger,

‎then you expired us with your carelessness.

‎I was proud of you,

‎now I'm proud I survived you,

‎and proud that I’m learning to choose myself.
